ATHLETE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE POLICY
*A policy governing requests for financial assistance from Woden Athletics Club members who represent the ACT or Australia in athletics.
Congratulations to five Woden Thunder athletes who have been successful in gaining financial assistance for the 2017/18 year through our Athlete Financial Assistance Policy. Thank you to these athletes and their families for their ongoing support by volunteering for the Club.
How To Apply
The Athlete Financial Assistance Policy sets out the policy framework and eligibility requirements for an athlete to be considered for financial assistance from the Club.
Please make yourself aware of these requirements. Applications which do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered.

Local Sporting Champions
Local Sporting Champions (LSC) is another program which provides athletes with an opportunity for financial assistance. This is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for young sportsmen and women, aged between 12-18 years.
Successful applicants will receive a monetary grant. This can be used towards the cost of:
- uniforms; or
The applicant must be competing, coaching or officiating at an event endorsed by an official National Sporting Organisation (NSO).
Applications must be completed and submitted prior to the event. For further information on the program, please see the Australian Sports Commission website.
