ACT Combined Events Championships

2019 Championships

Warm temperatures and blue skies greeted athletes each day of the ACT Combined Events Championships, held over the weekend of 12-13 January 2019.

A small contingent of Woden Thunder athletes shook off the festive fare to bring home medals.

Raelene Campbell backed up her performance from 2018 with another gold in the Masters Womens Pentathlon, while Kiefer Brennan took gold in the U14 Boys Pentathlon.

Congratulations to you both!

It would be great to see more Thunder athletes compete at these Championships –  save the date for 2020!

2018 Championships

Congratulations to Abbey Robb and Honey Proudfoot who took home gold and silver respectively in the U14 Girls Pentathlon at the ACT Combined Events Championships.

The Championships were held at the AIS Track & Field Centre over the 13th and 14th of January 2018 amidst some very windy conditions!

It was Abbey’s and Honey’s first appearance at these Championships and no doubt they’ll be back again.

Woden also picked up a silver in the U16 Girls Heptathlon with Erin Fenwick putting in a solid two days and a bronze for Rori Pryor in the U15 Little Athletics Heptathlon.

Raelene Campbell added to the success of the Woden women by winning the Masters Women’s Pentathlon.

Unfortunately there were no Woden men entered in this year’s Combined Events Championships so the women get to have bragging rights for a whole year!
